The Bliss Ranch blog has been invited to be part of a group of bloggers to share amongst ourselves our ideas and knowledge so that we can all grow. The first step in that is to think about what we want our blogs to be and then we can link to a party with those goals on Friday March 2nd. The link party isn't just for that group, it is for everyone. I would love for my followers to link up. So jot down your own 5 goals to link up Friday to one of the blogs below. Your link, will show on all of the blogs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is a bit hard for me to come up with what I want my blog to be rather than what I don't want it to be. The reason is that I know as blogs grow it gets harder to always put a face or name to the people that stop by. My favorite part of this whole blogging stuff is leaving comments for others, reading blog comments left for me, and then responding again to many of those comments. I don't want that to change.
Here are the five things I want my blog to grow up “to be” in 2012 …
1. Personal.
But not in the way that I tell you all the details of my life on the cover. Personal in the way that I know something about the people who frequent my blog, even if I don't get it right the first time and need a reminder, I want everyone to somehow be familiar. I want connections, I want to maintain the connections and I want my brain to retain the connections!
2. Hardware Accessories.
What is hardware accessories you ask? Like when you accessorize in a room, or add hardware to new cabinets to complete them, I too want to have the right hardware and accessories on my blog to complete it. Everything from figuring out the processes, steps, and shortcuts of blogging to the pretty blog accessories and hardware that make it visually appealing.
3. Opportunities.
I want my blog and thus myself to have opportunities. I won't be more specific because there are probably great opportunities out there that I don't even know exist.
4. To Provide.
To provide something to the people that follow, be it a helpful hint, a recipe, to entertain them with humor, or offer kind words when they need it. I find blogging to be very fulfilling.
5. Give something back.
I will forever follow those first few blogs that befriended me. I know who they are and just like your family is your home base in real life, those blogs ground me in the land of blogging. Everyone is new sometime, and I will always offer up what I know to help others because somewhere along my way, someone did that for me.
Next up are some new link parties. The first one is at UnclutteredLifestyle, Uncluttered Thursdays. I like this just because it gets me to declutter SOMETHING-ANYTHING! Tell Iesha Bliss sent you!
Then Friday pop over to the The Rooster and The Hen for their first link party,
REpurpose, REmodel, REveal
REpurpose, REmodel, REveal
Last but certainly not least Joy2Journey has a "Sunday Stop" party.
I
am heading out today to Junk Market Under Glass hosted by Sue Whitney,
(yes that Sue Whitney). I'll be looking for ideas, maybe bring home a
treasure or two, or just watch the people I'm with spend their money!
- Thanks for these new link up places. Will give them a try. Wish I was going junking with you. I know ALOT of fabulous places up there in Minnesota. (We lived there 10 1/2 years) and I haunted so many places and had a blast. We had 4 kids then and couldn't afford new so I went the used/antique route and had a ball. Look forward to hearing all about it. Where, when, who etc. etc. every little teensy weensy disgusting detail. (smile)ReplyDelete
Have fun!
Nann - looks like I'm all set for some late night reads!
thanks for letting us in on your little secrets!
xoxoxo
I just love your goals! I need to add that "hardware accessory" goal to my list too ...
ReplyDelete:)
Linda
Those are some wonderful goals!!!! I agree with the hardware goal for myself....always looking for new gadgets and gizmos to make my blog better.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good person and a sweet blog friend. I know I get the best laughter from some of your comments - you definitely provide humor. You have a lovely blog - don't change.
ReplyDeleteWe have only recently discovered each other, but you make it so easy to get to know you. You are very personal in a good way. I really need to work on my blog...when I grow up!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals. I feel like I have gotten to know some of the people whose blogs I follow and who follow me. Blogging has been a world-enlarging experience for me.
ReplyDeleteI think you are well on your way to those goals. Of course, I kinda think you've met them. But...I wonder what more there is? Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteWhat does your blog want to be when it grows up? Heck, I don't even know what I want to be when I grow up!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals Bliss. I too adore your blog. It's your humor that keeps me coming back. That and the fact that you are not afraid to have fun with project blowups. (a certain cake pop catastrophe will not be mentioned...) I look forward to seeing what your blog morphs into.
No worries about what you want to be...all I know is that I'm entertained and interested and I snort water out of my nose when I read your posts. A lot.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful goals Bliss! I love visiting your blog. Your humor is wonderful and you always brighten my day! Thank you! Can't wait to see what you do with your blog.
ReplyDeleteHolly
I know exactly what you mean about comments. Not that I need to worry about it, but I see how time consuming and difficult it could be for bloggers with huge followings to keep it personal by acknowledging dozens of comments after every post. Maybe you'll be the one to figure out how to balance it all.
ReplyDeleteYour blog may change and grow, but you'll still have your slightly off-the-wall sense of humor that will keep us coming back for some much needed laughter in this crazy world.
I am with you on those first few bloggers who became your first peeps. I still remember the first person who ever commented on my blog, "Sally Lee by the Sea." Great post....but even funnier comment over at kirby's.
ReplyDeleteblessings,
k
So glad someone went ahead & did this post! I had no idea what it was really supposed to consist of!! This definitely gives me a place to start!! So nice to meet you!! Look forward to getting to know you more!
Those are great goals! I think you're on the right track :).
ReplyDeleteOf course I already followed you by GFC, but now I'm a linky follower too!!
Thanks for getting this rolling, Bliss. Your goals are beautiful and really offer balance to someone like me. I can't wait for the linkup on Friday to learn from everyone's great ideas.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful goals Bliss, and all so thoughtful! It is hard as a blog grows to be more personal and make connections like you could before. However, it can still be done!~ You are so right opportunities you would not even believe that exist out here. Have fun at the end of the day is the main thing.
ReplyDeleteBliss this is great! Can't wait to link up. I also wanted you to know that I'm now your first follower via Bloglovin'!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful goals! We could all probably take note of those! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I need to work on the hardware thing too, I love that way of thinking about it. Looking forward to watching you surpass all those goals :)
ReplyDeleteFun Goals! I love the hardware accessories one, so true, so many little, pretty details to learn to get our blogs beautiful. And number 5 is awesome. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
